For the longest time I have wondered how Micah and Brandon did the introduction of the film "the call that changed it all" and micah and Brandon have been nice, and showed me how to do it. Now Kaycee and I have a awesome tittle for the beginning of our short film. So thank you Micah and Brandon for teaching me. "You can learn something new each and everyday"

I think community service is a great idea for us to do as a class. I think it's good because many people in the community come out of their time to come and help and support us for our fundraisers and our other activities that helped us get to Florida. So would be nice to give back to our community. We definitely have enough time to do Community service. There are many ways to give back to the community.
We could do Relay For Life which is always a good community service. Also another good one is adopt the beach. A lot of you must be like what's adopt the beach, adopt the beach is basically going to the beach and cleaning the beach up so that our Kauai beaches can stay nice and clean. Sometimes I like the idea of just walking in a Marathon or something just to help or show that we are there to support the less fortunate people. Like walking in the march of dimes walk was a good idea and those other marathons when your just walking in a group to just help the people that need help. I think we should do this once a quarter because we want to still give back to the community, but we also want to be able to have enough time to do our projects that we need to do once a quarter. So yes I think that we should do community service because helping the community is a great way to show that we appreciate their support and help. Bye! On Thursday Kaycee and I turned in and got feedback on our script and got a ok from Mr. M, so yesterday we went out to film half of our film. I went pretty good I think Kaycee and I will do just fine in our fourth Quarter project. our actors are Micah, Brooke, Halle, Ben.M, and Dalson. Our short film story is that in the other the call that changed it all the three agents had a mission to complete and now in this film they will have compeleted the mission with the pitts and the agents caught her, but now the Pitts has escaped and now the agents have to meet back up and find a way to capture her and put her back in lock down. We only did the Pitts lair scenes and on another day we will finish our filming. our project is going pretty good! bye!
When I was on the STN trip we had our ups and downs. Honestly, I think we had more good times then bad times. I had so much fun that if there were bad times on the trip I don't think I noticed it. There's this one quote "make the best times from the worst". I tried to do this on the trip and to pick up others when others are down. Since I had a lot of awesome times in Florida it's hard to pick three. . . but I would say that I really liked the basketball game and the parks. Also I really liked it when we finally met our pen pals.
I really liked the basketball game. I didn't know what happened, but I had fun. I think I had fun because I was sitting next to Isa and I sat in front of Mr.M. Isa made I fun because when Hawk (a guy that gives free stuff out) was giving out these thunder sticks and Isa and I were tring so hard to get them. Every time he would throw it our way it either went over our head or right below us. Isa was getting so crazy that Isa and I just gave up and walked down to him and asked him for one. also Isa and I were cheering wehen we think they scored only because Mr.M explained to us what was happening. So Isa and I made our own kind of fun. I also liked going to the parks. I love rollercoasters I think they are the best things to ride especially if there are lots of loops and turns and spins. I can't say atht I had a favorite because I rode so many rides, but I enjoyed going on Toon Lagoon. I enjoyed the ride because for the first time I went on it. we went through the big drop, and right went you come down past the corner you get shot by a sprayer (Mr. M sprayed us for 25cents) so ya it was pretty fun. Lastly I liked meeting our pen pal. My pen pal was Mia. It was so cool to meet her. she was super funny and it was a great experience to meet other. I think emailing Mia and actually meeting her personally was so cool and diffe I think that over the trip we all made close friends and found new friends, but most importantly I think It brought the CKTV ohana a lot closer. I'm kind of sad that some of the students won't be coming back to media next year, I'll miss everyone thats not coming back next year. Until next time this has been Kelli Okayama signing out! Bye! Nicole Kelli Lindsey Javlynn Micah Brooke Brandon Thank You for helping us and supporting us through the 6 hour competition. Brooke, Micah, and Brandon took the time from their breakout sessions to help our music video team. Especially, to Micah and Brandon who took the time to help us on weekends and help us prepare for the big moment. We had so much fun and being with you guys made it way more enjoyable so thank you all! MAHALO!!! !!!THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!I think the trip up in Orlando was so much fun and so memorable. I think the whole CKTV ohana had many lessons while on the trip in Florida. I know that I had many valuable lessons in Florida and I think that you will understand why I choose them as my valuable lessons. My first valuable lesson is to have good sportsmanship. For example, in Harry Potter land, everyone was going on the red and blue dragon rollercoaster. Some of us were checking our height and Saul walked up to the height meter and he was 1inch too short and he didn't complain, he just laughed because he thought it was so funny. He was just so funny because he wasn't sad or anything he was just happy that he got Butter beer. So this was the perfect example of good sportsmanship. Another valuable lesson is to NEVER EVER give up. For example during the editing part of the competition Lindsey and I were cutting it super close to the deadline. We were both panicking and it became super hard to focus. We were finish editing the music video and just finished exporting the m4v version when we realized that we needed the mov version instead of the m4v. So we had to figure how to change the settings on the computer to allow us to make the mov version run smoothly. Once we figured that out we noticed that our whole timeline needed to be rendered. We thought it was the end and I will admit that I was the first to cry, but I had no idea why. Then I finally realized that I was crying because there was no way we were going to turn it in. Then I looked at Lindsey and she started crying and we both sort of lost hope. Then I did what any crazy crying person would do . . . I pulled out the flash drive with out ejecting it and I threw it in the bag and Lindsey walked to the bin and turned it in with 1 second to spare. I was so sad and Halle and Ben were with us (thank you for the support Ben and Halle). Halle was crying with Lindsey and I, but to get the point we panicked for no reason because we won 2nd place. So I think the biggest lesson for me was to stay calm, don't panic, and never give up hope because you never know ..they might just accept the m4v file. Hahaha!
Lastly I learned to have fun even through you have no idea what's happening, or don't be close-minded. I walked into the Amway Center stands at the Orlando Magic basketball game having no idea what to do if the team scores, but come to find out I absolutely loved the game! Isa and I were having the time of our lives talking, spilling soda and eating. Thank you to Mr. M. for helping us understand the game as it went along. I think both of us had no idea what was happening and I still don't know what happened, but the main thing it to have fun. One big important lesson is to be open-minded and to make your own type of fun. Being in that Florida trip was so fun and being with my friends made it so much fun. It was a very memorable trip. This blog is to thank Mr. M for all he did to help us get to Florida. If you haven't noticed Mr. M was the one that set up the fundraisers, the street fairs, and the breakfast. Mr. M was also the one that set up the tours for us to go on up in Florida. He does these trips every year and some schools don't have a chance to go to STN every year so we should consider our selfs lucky to have a teacher that gives us this kind of oppertunity. we should also be thankful for him helping all of us with our quarter projects, competitions, and our radios. I think he taught us many life skills. Like responsibility, and I learned this by doing two blogs every week and turning our radios in. Another life skill I learned was Procrastination. I actually learned this lesson up in Florida during both of the competitions. So thank you so much Mr. m from making this trip so memorable.lets not forget about the chaparones. If it wasn't for the chaperones we wouldn't have gotten to Florida. For the chaparones it was nothing like vacation. They were there to support us, feed us, wash our clothes, make sure we have fun and behave. To me they made to trip fun, by them riding the rollercosters with us to eating with them.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR MAKING THE TRIP SO MEMORABLE AND FUN As you all know we went up to Orlando, Florida to compete in a National competition. We brought home 5 awards, which will be shown on the school morning announcement. The experience of being at STN is indescribable. It’s basically a rush of emotions, especially once you win an award. I have some advice for next year’s students. There are so many but I’ll just talk about three.
One piece of advice is Procrastination. Procrastination will always be your enemy. Never procrastinate because it defiantly doesn’t help your video. It may seem like you have a lot of time, but you have to realize that it’s only 6 hours or so. Another piece of advice is to keep your mind open. In the STN briefing session they tell you the subject/topic, the boundaries, and the rules. During this time you’ll have a lot of ideas flowing. If you have a topic like the movie trailer group, Face time…don’t just think of the video chat app face time think out side of the box. Let creativity take over. If an idea seems crazy just say it anyway. My last piece of advice is to remember that you’re a CKTV OHANA. During the trip you may get annoyed with someone because you see them everyday, but don’t get mad at them or say something you cant take back because it will make the trip miserable. And all that money to get to STN would have gone to waste. Hope everyone next year has fun at San Diego like I had at Florida. Hi guys this past Saturday we had a second STN practice at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School. Our song was "I Want You Back" by Colbie Caillat. Our first practice was not very good, so this practice we changed somethings up a little so that our second practice would be a lot better than the first. At the end of our practice, we watched our videos over, and we found out from Mr. M. that we have some more things to work on. Lastly, I think all of us group members got along well.
By changing up our ways of working with each other the results were different. Unlike last time when we did not have a story or we had blank spaces this time we did not have blank spaces and our story was a whole lot better. Although some of our shots did not make much sense to Mr. M we had to take some time to explain it to him before he finally got what we were trying to say and show in the video. Even though we improved on somethings we will have a lot more to work on. For example, at the end of our video we had the broken hearted girl kick a rock at the boy, and the boy picked up examined it for a little while and threw it away as a rejection to this thought. Mr. M did not quite get it either so we must make things more obvious to see and easier to get. We are headed jobs that we were to do. So everyone in our group would b edoing somethings and not be sitting and stocking up. For example we each had a piece of equipment to carry and Nicole was a actor, javlynn was a photographer and a actor, LIndsey was a actor and editor, and I was the actor, editor and director. So we all had assigned jobs and we all did our jobs well.. We were a team this practice and hopefully next practice will be better prepared, and in fact we also are going to schedule new dates for us to practice on our own time. So we did pretty good... How did your group do? Hey all you bloggers,
My Physical Therapist had a group of her friends come down from California and you won't bleieve who one of of them were. (Hint: her picture is above). Yah, that's right my physical therapist's friend that came down from California was Colbie Caillat! How cool is that! The funny thing is that yesterday was STN Practice and our song was "I Want You Back" by Michael Jackson, but sung by Colbie Caillat so it was just so coincidental so I thought that it would be interesting to put it in my blog. |
